
Tamuno Orji-Obasi
Chief Operating Officer
Tamuno Orji Obasi is a seasoned oil and gas executive with over 20 years of experience in Nigeria’s energy sector, specializing in marine operations, crude barging, directional drilling, and local gas distribution. He has consistently led operational excellence, safety compliance, and strategic growth across multiple high-impact roles.
Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at JCL, Tamuno oversees core operational functions, driving innovation, efficiency, and safety across the company’s portfolio. Prior to this, he held leadership roles including Managing Director at South Horizon Limited, where he managed strategic operations and procurement for LPG and CNG, and Senior Marine Consultant at Jetense Consultants, where he led vessel reactivation projects in the U.S. and championed HSE initiatives.
His project management expertise spans offshore logistics, crude oil barging, and environmental safety, with successful engagements at Subdrill Services, Cleparinna International, and Chumalex International. Tamuno also brings deep technical knowledge from his years as a Directional Driller with Baker Hughes and Segofs Energy, where he pioneered the use of advanced drilling tools in West Africa.
Tamuno holds a Bachelor of Technology in Geology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, and is currently pursuing a Diploma in Data Analytics at NIIT. He is certified in Designated Person Ashore (DNV) and Root Cause Analysis (Bureau Veritas), and is recognized for his leadership, strategic planning, and technical acumen.
