Engr. Eteyen Edet Oboho is a distinguished maritime professional whose career reflects a seamless blend of academic excellence, practical experience, and leadership in maritime assurance and risk management. His journey began with a robust foundation in marine engineering, complemented by hands - on experience as a Chief Engineer on ocean-going clean product and chemical tankers. Holding a Chief Engineer Class 1 Certificate of Competence from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, Eteyen developed critical expertise in maritime operations and management during these formative years.

Building on this foundation, Eteyen pursued an MBA in Supply Chain, Shipping, and Logistics from Universidad Católica de Murcia, Spain, equipping him with advanced knowledge to address complex industry challenges. His academic pursuits culminated in impactful research on reducing NonProductive Time (NPT) in the oil and gas supply chain, demonstrating his commitment to enhancing industry standards.
 

Eteyen’s professional trajectory includes significant contributions at Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company, where he led marine quality assurance and logistics operations. His leadership in developing competency standards and implementing cost-saving measures significantly improved safety and efficiency across deep offshore platforms. Certified as an International Safety Management Lead Auditor, with specialized training in marine insurance and incident investigation, he became adept at navigating compliance and regulatory frameworks. His innovative systems for performance analysis and safety management further solidified his reputation as a proactive leader in addressing maritime challenges.
 

Currently, as the Managing Director of Jetense Consultants Limited, Eteyen drives strategic leadership and organizational performance, embedding a safety-first culture across all operations. His commitment to continuous improvement and innovation ensures resilient, compliant maritime operations. As an accredited OCIMF OVID inspector, he prioritizes rigorous evaluation processes to uphold maritime safety and operational excellence.
 

Guided by core values of integrity, honesty, and respect for people, Eteyen continues to elevate industry standards. Passionate about lifelong learning, he is exploring PhD studies at Liverpool John Moores University, focusing on advancing maritime supply chain efficiency. Today, he actively contributes to discussions at NIMASA, sharing practical insights and addressing challenges in inspection work, reinforcing his role as a pivotal voice in the maritime sector.
